Brest Cave

Brest Cave is the first accessible cave in the Orava and Western Tatras region. It is located near the Orava Village Museum in Zuberec. Its spaces were modeled in the middle and younger Quaternary periods by a watercourse that still flows through its lower parts today. The cave consists of two floors, with an active riverbed at the bottom of the lower one.

Of the total length of 1,890 meters, only 217 are accessible to visitors, while the route is walked twice, and the total length of the tour is thus 434 meters, on which you climb 240 steps. Due to the cramped spaces, it is not possible to organize the entry of large groups of visitors, the capacity is limited to 15. It is advisable to book a visit to the cave in advance.
