The Dobšinska ice cave is one of the most important of its kind not only here, but globally. This is also the reason why it is included in the list of world natural heritage. Inside it, there are ice stalactites, stalagmites, ice falls and floor ice, which sometimes reaches a thickness of up to 25 meters.
The best conditions for the creation of ice decoration prevail here in the spring, when the surface water penetrates into the cave through cracks and freezes in various shapes. For this reason, the decoration is slightly different every year and the cave is therefore worth a repeated visit. The cave can be reached from the parking lot on foot along a 1 km long nature trail, which overcomes a height of about 130 meters and takes about 25 minutes to climb.
