Jánošík Bastion is a popular destination for tourists, cyclists and climbers, yet it is just a hop away from Košice, Kysak or Veľká Lodina. It is a limestone rock that stands out prominently from the forested ridge of the Volovské vrchy, which allows amazing views of the surrounding hills, the Hornáda valley or the Košice-Bohumín railway line, which is now part of the northern route between Košice and Bratislava.
Jánošík Bastion can be reached by short marked routes from Kysak and Veľká Lodina, more demanding tourists can come here, or continue until Košice. The surroundings provide several nice places to relax, have refreshments and recharge your batteries in nature. There are also several opportunities suitable for rock climbers.
