Salatín hill is located on the main ridge of the Western Tatras. It can be found between Bobrovecká and Roháčská dolina. Its shape is very specific and its slopes are richly covered with mountain grass, which made it a great place for grazing cattle in the past. Today, in the vicinity of its peak, we mainly find tourists enjoying alpine tourism.

The peak of Salatina is formed by an approximately 100-meter-long plateau with a distinct furrow. In the northeast, there is a long lateral mass of Malý Salatín with crumbling walls and smaller caves. It is also sought after because of the wonderful views of the Liptovská Kotlina, the Low Tatras or the Mala and Velka Fatra. It is advisable to choose Zverovka, Jalovec or Huty as starting points, while steep climbs await tourists from all directions at the end of the route.
