Hlohovec is one of the few places in Slovakia where there is an observatory and a planetarium. This is used for educational, educational and scientific activities. Its equipment also corresponds to this, the second largest telescope in Slovakia is located here. Evidence of top research is the regular publication of articles by local scientists in professional journals.

The M.R. Štefánik Observatory and Planetarium offers various observations, lectures, seminars and screenings of professional and educational films for schools and the public. It also organizes interest groups for primary and secondary school students. Excursions and observations must be ordered in advance.
