The manor house in St. Anton

The manor house in St. Anton was built on the site of a fortified medieval castle from the 15th century and was completed in 1750. During its existence, it was rebuilt several times and is mainly associated with the families of Koháry and Coburg. Legend tells of the symbolism of the calendar when it originally had 4 entrances (seasons), 7 arcades (days of the week), 12 chimneys (months of the year), 52 rooms (weeks of the year) and 365 windows (days of the year).

Today, the mansion serves as a museum. On its first floor, original interiors from the Baroque to the second half of the 19th century can be accessed. It is worth mentioning, for example, the Golden Salon equipped with furniture, which was given by Mária Theresia to her daughter Mária Antoinette as a wedding gift. The museum also includes the largest hunting exhibition in Slovakia consisting of rare trophies, a collection of historical hunting weapons, paintings and many other artifacts.
