The Ochtinská aragonite cave is unique not only in Slovakia, but worldwide. It is one of the 3 aragonite caves accessible worldwide, the only one in Europe. It was discovered by accident during the digging of an exploratory geological tunnel in 1954. With a total length of 300 meters, it is one of the smallest cave complexes in our country, 230 meters are open to visitors.

There are three generations of aragonite in the cave, creating unique glowing patterns. Even though it is not a big cave, its decoration is all the richer and more valuable. These are the reasons why it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The cave is very easily accessible by car, as it is possible to park only 300 meters from its entrance, but there are also marked cycling and hiking routes that can be continued to the wider area.
