The Orava Village Museum is an outdoor museum mapping life in different parts of Orava in the past. It was established in 1967 on the site of agricultural land belonging to the inhabitants of the village of Zuberec. Most of the buildings in the museum are originals that were bought from the original owners, dismantled, transported and treated and reassembled on the museum site. Buildings that could not be bought or transferred were faithfully reconstructed.

The museum also includes technical buildings (a water mill, a mandrel for stroking blueprints, an oil mill and others). Together with the furnishing of houses, the breeding of domestic animals and the cultivation of typical crops, it provides visitors with a perfect insight into the life of the inhabitants of Orava in the past.
