The synagogue

The synagogue dates from the second half of the 19th century and is located in the forest park area on Halenárská street. It recently underwent partial reconstruction and is a cultural monument. Currently, the Synagogue – Contemporary Art Center is part of the Ján Koniarik Gallery in Trnava. There is a memorial to the victims of the Holocaust in front of the building.

In its premises, a permanent exhibition of Jewish women from the collections of the Jewish community and the Museum of Jewish Culture of the SNM in Bratislava is installed. The gallery belongs to an international network of institutions dealing with contemporary art, so various exhibitions, art competitions and chamber and alternative concerts are held here.
