We can find several landmarks in Trnava, the biggest one being the City Tower, which is 60 meters high. Its history dates back to 1574. In its heyday, it was a symbol of the city’s prestige and prosperity. However, it played an important role in the period of Turkish raids, when it served to improve the defense system as a watchtower, but also performed an alarm and information function.

In 1729, a mechanical clockwork was installed in it, which is now being looked after by the fourth generation of the Nemček family. In the tower there is a permanent exhibition dedicated to the history of Trnava, the history of the City Tower and important Trnava figures. From the viewpoint at a height of 29 meters, visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the city and the surrounding area.
